citizenAID Attends SGSA Conference 2018
Members of the citizenAID team attended this year's Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) Conference, titled 'Maintaining Vigilance in Safety', on the Thursday 19th April.
The SGSA is the UK's regulatory body on safety at sports grounds and works to ensure that sports grounds are safe for everyone by sharing knowledge, advice and guidance on safety design and management as well as working in partnership with other organisations to educate the public.
Now in its fourth year, the conference focused on key topics including counter terrorism, fire safety, behaviour detection and supporter engagement.
Peter Joyce, Director of citizenAID, commented: "The SGSA Conference is a fantastic collaboration between stadiums across the UK, Police services and other organisations to share knowledge and discuss important issues, many of which echo the values of citizenAID."
The conference was attended by more than 200 people and included a number of workshops with speakers from organisations such as the Metropolitan Police Service, the National Cyber Security Centre, the Football Supporter's Federation and Transport for Manchester.
Peter continued: "Organisations like the SGSA and citizenAID are dedicated to educating the public about safety and it was a pleasure to be able to speak to like-minded people and discuss issues of counter terrorism, preparation and prevention."
