citizenAID invited to showcase initiative at Fisher House

On Wednesday 4th October, the citizenAID team were delighted to showcase its award-winning app and wider initiative at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce 1813 Club & Premier Member event, held at Fisher House, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Held to provide Members with the opportunity to understand more about both the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity and citizenAID, the Chamber’s 1813 Club and Premier Member Event was well attended, with representatives from a number of prestigious corporations including Rolls Royce and Selfridges.

citizenAID Co-Founders Sir Keith Porter, Brigadier Tim Hodgetts and Mr Andy Thurgood all conducted presentations, which outlined the true purpose of citizenAID, whilst focusing on the potential life-saving benefits both the app and wider initiative has in the unlikely but possible event of a deliberate attack.

The presentations concluded with a live demonstration of how to correctly apply a Tourniquet using citizenAID’s very own patented Tourni-Key product – demonstrating that if members of the public know how to conduct basic medical care, they too can help save lives.

Andy Thurgood confirmed: “The Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce event was extremely well attended and provided us with an exclusive opportunity to present citizenAID to a number of prestigious businessmen and women located in the Birmingham region.”

“Events like this are extremely important to us, and allow us to not only showcase the true benefits of citizenAID for both businesses and individuals, but also enables us to engage potential brand ambassadors who not only help us spread the word and increase awareness, but also open doors to potential fund-raising opportunities – which are crucial in helping us to continue to empower the public with our ‘Be prepared not scared’ message.”

Since its official launch in January 2017, the citizenAID app has been downloaded by over a quarter of a million users, quickly climbing to the number 1 spot for Medical Apps in iTunes.
